Leonard was estimated by the shelter to be someplace between 4-7 years when he was impounded. He was estimated to possibly be at the upper end due to his poor condition. He has an old scar on his neck where a collar was not changed as he grew and caused some tissue damage. His eyes were infected and he had some skin issues, mainly from lack of care. He is recently recovered for neutering and is doing very well. His major challenge has been potty training and he has made some major improvements recently but will need continued training in this area. He knows how to use a dog door but will need close supervision in new environments until he has more training.
His number one joy in life is eating, it seems having regular meals is still a novelty for him. His second joy is any human attention, especially rubs and massages. He is eager to please and although a work in progress, he will make a dedicated owner a wonderful companion. He is a true survivor, but whatever life has dealt him in the past seems not to have affected his sweet spirit and eagerness for human companionship. HE LOVES TO GO FOR RIDES IN THE CAR.
