Information Regarding Adopting

🐾 Adopting an English Bulldog from Northern California Bulldog Rescue
A 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization

EIN 26-0594203

Thank you for considering adoption through Northern California Bulldog Rescue!

We are a dedicated, volunteer-based nonprofit organization focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming unwanted, neglected, and abandoned English Bulldogs.

🏡 About Our Rescue

We are not a traditional shelter. Instead, all of our Bulldogs live in loving foster homes throughout Northern California. While they’re in our care, we provide everything they need: nutritious food, veterinary care, structure, and affection while we work to find each dog the perfect forever home.

We don’t believe in simply placing a Bulldog. Our goal is to match each rescue with the right family for a lifetime of happiness.

📝 The Adoption Process

The first step toward adoption is submitting an adoption application through our website.
We do not discuss potential adoptions over the phone unless we already have your application on file. This ensures we understand what kind of home you can provide and can begin looking for the right match.

If we feel one of our dogs may be a good fit, we will contact you to arrange a home visit. During this visit, we’ll get to know your household better and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for a Bulldog. We also verify veterinary references and check pet policies if you rent your home.

All of our Bulldogs are evaluated in their foster homes to help us understand their temperament and needs. Our number one priority is ensuring the well-being of our dogs and the safety and happiness of their adoptive families.

Please be patient with us. We’re an all-volunteer rescue, and while our hearts are fully in this, our time is often spent directly caring for our dogs.

🐶 Frequently Asked Questions

Can I meet a Bulldog in person before filling out an application?
We do not allow meet-and-greets unless we have an application on file. This helps us respect our foster homes and keep the process efficient for everyone involved — especially our dogs.

Can I apply for a specific dog I saw on your site?
Yes! Just remember, not every dog is a good fit for every home. Our fosters know their dogs best and will help determine the most suitable match.

Do you have puppies available for adoption?
Rarely. Most of our Bulldogs are between 2 and 5 years old. If you’re specifically looking for a puppy, rescue may not be the best route.

Do you adopt outside of California?
No. We do not ship or place dogs out of state. All adoptions must be local to ensure we can offer ongoing support.

Are all dogs spayed or neutered?
Yes, all Bulldogs are spayed or neutered before placement.

🐾 How You Can Help

We’re always in need of foster homes, donations, and gently used supplies like crates and beds. Every bit helps us continue rescuing Bulldogs in need one dog at a time.

Together, we can change lives — one wrinkly face at a time. 🐶💙
