Meet “Waffles” – Adopted

Waffles came into Rescue via the Local Shelter

Waffles – Spayed Female – Reddish Fawn and White – 3 years old – 59.80 pounds

Waffles is one Sweet Friendly Girl who wiggles constantly when she sees you. She is happy to greet everybody she sees and that includes other dogs.
This dog is a real “BEAUTY” – she is so good on a leash and enjoys her walks. She is completely house-trained and seems to know basic commands like sit.
She loves giving you her paw. This is one “Dream Girl” who will melt your heart and become your Best Friend. It’s hard to believe this girl was a stray that was found wandering around. She is a true find and will make even a better companion.

Waffles had a mammary tumor that was removed and sent in for a Biopsy. The biopsy came back that it was low-grade cancer, but the surgery had gotten good margins around the tumor with no obvious metastasis (evidence of spreading).
We also did chest radiographs and all was clear. She will need to be monitored regularly for any additional mammary growths. But, she is ready for her new home.

Waffles looks like she is a Bulldog/Boxer Mix? – Mostly Bulldog! What a MUG!!!!!

My name is Shannon and I am Waffles Foster Mom:

I can’t say enough good things about sweet little nugget Waffles!  She’s the perfect houseguest.  She’s timid and submissive at first, but it doesn’t take long at all for her to warm up and give you her paw to hold.  I just love her little tail wags and happy grunts every time she greets me at the door.  She is my little shadow and loves to be with her person as much as possible.

She is completely house-trained, super affectionate, playful, and gaining confidence daily. We’ve been practicing basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘wait’, and she’s eager to learn especially when a little treat is involved. Waffles loves her walks around the neighborhood and is very curious about her surroundings.  She was happy to meet the neighbor’s dog, eagerly sniffed a little, and then was completely submissive lying down on the ground. She also has met some of the quieter neighbor children and let them give her gentle pets. Sweet Waffles is startled by loud noises and some sudden movements, but as I mentioned is getting more and more comfortable by the day.

Her favorite things are snuggling and ‘spooning’ with her person, tummy rubs, and ear scratches. She is a great little sleeping buddy who happily snores away until her person is ready to get up and start the day.  After a short snuggle session, she’s ready to get up and go for her morning walk, play, whatever the day brings! When I leave for work I monitor her on my Petcam.  She doesn’t cry or bark just wanders around for a little while and then naps on the couch.  I’ve left her for about five hours and no accidents, and no issues at all!

This sweet little lady is a joy to have around!
